Nothing’s Ear 1 buds are heading to markets soon offering $99, £99, and €99 price tags in the US, UK, and Europe, respectively. The true wireless earbuds are also launching in India but apparently at a much lower comparative price.
At Rs 5,999 (~$81), the Ear 1 buds will be ~$18 cheaper in India than in the US. That price is also a substantial ~$57 lower than the UK price. But is that price fair?

Readers were surprisingly conflicted over this one. More than 2,300 respondents chimed in, with 55.7% of the population voting in favor of the price. However, 44.3% of readers believe Nothing can shave a few more figures off that number.
Understandably, when given a choice, consumers would always want a product to come in at a lower price. However, the Nothing Ear 1 buds face stiff competition in India from buds at or below its price point.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus come in at Rs 5,999, too, and are among the best buds you can buy for this price. Cheaper options, like the Rs 2,499 (~$34) Realme Buds Q2 offer stellar sound with ANC support.
Most readers made their feeling known through the poll, so there weren’t too many comments to speak of. However, some are seemingly optimistic about Carl Pei’s new venture. Others have more practical concerns.
