Today, Apple finally took the wraps off the newest smartphone series to its name: the iPhone 13 family. As with last year, there are four models: the vanilla variant, the Mini, the Pro, and the Pro Max.

There aren’t too many upgrades on offer for any of them, as they are the same sizes as last year. However, Apple did manage to cram in some better lenses for the Pro models as well as bigger batteries across the line. It also managed the shrink down the notch a bit — finally.

Interestingly, Apple is also bringing ProMotion to the iPhone 13 series — its proprietary branding for high refresh rate displays. The two Pro models have this feature, but the other two are stuck on 60Hz.

Considering these phones are a bit better than last year’s while keeping pricing the same, one can’t help but think Apple is offering a good deal in 2021. However, the fact that there aren’t too many upgrades is also a bit disappointing, as we were hoping to see always-on displays, better camera hardware, and in-display fingerprint sensors. Oh well.

What do you think? Hit the poll above and let us know if you think keeping pricing the same while offering a few more features means the iPhone 13 series is hot. Conversely, if you think Apple skimped out too much on upgrades, hit the “not” option.
