- Today, you can buy the Mobvoi TicWatch E3, a sub-$200 Wear OS smartwatch.
- It is only the second watch to market with the Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset, the other being Mobvoi’s own TicWatch 3 Pro.
- It basically has the same specs as the TicWatch 3 Pro, but with cheaper build materials and some other cut corners.
If you’re looking to buy a Wear OS smartwatch, you shouldn’t buy anything that doesn’t have a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset and at least 1GB of RAM. Unfortunately, for a long time now, that meant your only choice was the Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3.
That changes today! Now, you have a second choice, also from Mobvoi: the Mobvoi TicWatch E3. This watch is a cheaper model than the TicWatch 3 Pro but offers the same chipset and many of the same specs.

For some, this might be an even better watch than the TicWatch 3 Pro since it has a case that isn’t nearly as chunky. However, the face does have some very thick bezels and the case itself is very thick at 12.6mm. Still, its more minimalist approach might appeal to certain buyers when compared to the TicWatch 3 Pro.
Mobvoi TicWatch E3 specs and features
As far as specs go, it has the aforementioned Wear 4100 chipset, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a built-in speaker, built-in GPS, and all the usual health monitoring sensors, including SpO2 tracking. That built-in speaker allows for audio responses from Google Assistant, which is a nice feature to have.
With specs like these and a sub-$200 price, the Mobvoi TicWatch E3 seems like a no-brainer for someone looking to buy a Wear OS watch today. However, it might be in your best interests to wait a bit longer so you can have a look at the watches coming later this year with the “new” Wear OS on board. As of now, it is not clear if current Wear OS watches, such as the TicWatch E3, will see that new version or be stuck on the current version.
If you can’t wait, though, the Mobvoi TicWatch E3 is available now for $199.99.
