- The Oxygen OS 12 build that rolled out to OnePlus 9 phones this week is not getting a warm reception.
- Bugs, missing features, and other problems are the main sources of contention.
- This early backlash for “stable” launches is becoming the norm for OnePlus.
Remember when OnePlus rolled out the Oxygen OS 11 update to the OnePlus 8 series? That didn’t go so well. Or how about the same software for the OnePlus 7 series? That came incredibly late and also didn’t go so well. Hopefully, things would be better this time around, right?
Apparently not. Earlier this week, OnePlus rolled out a stable version of Oxygen OS 12 — based on Android 12 — to the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. Now that users have had time to install and use it, the usual backlash against it started fast and started strong.
