- Signal not working for you? You’re not alone, as the service featured a significant outage today.
- The platform has largely remedied the issue, but there may still be people worldwide who can’t access the service.
- A “hosting outage” caused the issue.
If you tried to message someone using Signal today, you might have faced some issues. No, it’s not your phone — it’s the service itself. According to the company’s official status page and Twitter handle, the messaging platform today experienced “technical difficulties” due to a “hosting outage.”
First spotted by XDA-Developers, Signal was unavailable for several users in the early hours of Monday in the US. At the time of publishing, its Twitter account confirmed that messaging on the platform has “recovered for 99% of users,” but is still working towards “full recovery” for all users.
According to DownDetector, the worst is seemingly over but suggests that some users are still experiencing issues across the US.
Signal’s latest outage came a few months after it experienced server strain as a surge of WhatsApp users joined the platform.
