- There could be a nifty Samsung Galaxy S23 battery-saver feature.
- The “Light” mode we’ve seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 could make its way to the 2023 non-foldable flagships.
- It is unclear if Light mode will make it to other Samsung phones.
On Samsung’s latest crop of foldables – the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 – you can toggle on a “Light” mode within Android settings. Essentially, this feature tones down the performance of the phone’s chipset in order to optimize battery life and thermals.
According to a rumor stemming from sometimes-accurate leaker Ice Universe, this could pave the way for a similar Samsung Galaxy S23 battery-saver mode. Confusingly, Ice Universe shared a screenshot from a Galaxy Z Fold 4 and didn’t mention that in the tweet. However, the implication is that this feature from Samsung’s foldables could make it to the Galaxy S23 series.
