  • Realme has officially launched its first laptop.
  • The Realme Book packs a thin aluminum body, Intel 11th-Gen CPUs, and 14-inch displays.
  • Pricing starts at $749.

News that Realme was preparing BBK Electronics’ first laptop first broke cover back in June. Now, a little over two months later, the brand has officially launched the Realme Book.

Realme’s first effort packs conservative styling traits headlined by a 3:2 display fitted to an aluminum body. A backlit keyboard with three brightness modes also boosts productivity in low-light environments, as does the Microsoft Precision touchpad.

The machine is also known as the Realme Book Slim, and the laptop measures 15.5mm at its thickest point. It’s not winning any awards in this area, but that’s thin enough to slot into a plane seat’s literature sleeve without fuss. We’re looking at a relatively low 1.38kg weight, too.

Realme Book specs

Let’s get into some specs. The Realme Book is fronted by a 14-inch IPS 2,160 x 1,440 display slathered in Gorilla Glass. The screen covers 100% of the sRGB color space and peaks at 400 nits of brightness.

Internally, there’s a selection of 11th generation Intel CPUs. Buyers can choose between the dual-core i3-1115G4 or the quad-core i5-1135G7 — both present turbo clock speeds over 4.0GHz which should suffice for general web surfing and light gaming. Speaking of gaming, the Realme Book arrives with Intel’s Iris XE GPUs.

For power, the Realme Book uses a 54Wh battery topped up by a 65W USB-C charger. Realme claims the latter can fill the battery to 50% in half an hour. Smartly, owners of Realme phones can also use 30W Dark Charge-capable chargers on the Realme Book.

As for I/O, the i3 model settles a single USB-C port, while the i5 packs another supporting Thunderbolt 4. There’s a single USB-A port and a combo headphone jack. Standard across both models are stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon, two microphones, a power/fingerprint combo button, and Windows 10 Home. The latter will gain a free upgrade to Windows 11 when the OS arrives.

Finally, Realme is also introducing its PC Connect feature to the laptop. This allows some Realme devices to mirror their display on the computer.

Realme Book price and availability

As mentioned above, the Realme Book will land with a choice of two Intel chipsets. Each has a further two RAM/storage options. Global recommended pricing is as follows:

  • i3 8GB RAM/256GB storage: $749
  • i3 8GB/512GB: $799
  • i5 8GB/512GB: $969
  • i5 16GB/512GB: $999

Realme offers the i3 model in India with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for Rs 46,999 (~$632) on the company’s official site. The i5 8GB/512GB model retails for Rs 59,999 (~$807). The Realme Book goes on sale from August 30 in two colorways: Real Blue and Real Grey.
