Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 and Flip 3 laying down

Two new Samsung foldable phones are roaming the market today. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 refines its predecessor’s strengths and brings even more features to the party. The Galaxy Z Flip 3, meanwhile, condenses the flip-foldable formula into a more accessible package. Both phones are pretty appealing on paper, but if you had to purchase one, which would you choose?

There are several reasons to go with the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It packs nifty S Pen support for the first time on a Samsung foldable. A new under-display camera and a more durable shell with water resistance also feature. If you’re looking for a device with a large screen, this is the phone to buy. That said, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 may still be too large for some. And at $1,799, it remains a massive investment for a smartphone.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the far more appealing of the two for those on a slimmer budget. It starts at $999 and fixes many of its predecessor’s issues. It includes a hardier shell, a more durable internal display, and a more useful external display. The Z Flip 3 also folds into a smaller package. But, again, is this design the best use of foldable technology? And is the Galaxy Z Flip 3 really worth the $999 spend over a traditional, rigid flagship?
