- OnePlus has indirectly confirmed that a set of OnePlus Buds Pro are in the works and would likely launch this year.
- The company is looking for community testers to give the ‘buds a shot and deliver feedback.
- Additionally, the company is looking for testers for the OnePlus Nord 2.
OnePlus has a history of asking for product testing help from its active community members. The way it works is that a lucky selection of fans will get to test early iterations of products and deliver feedback to the company.
Today, OnePlus announced that it is opening another round of community testing, which it calls Labs. There are two products up this time: the already-confirmed OnePlus Nord 2 and a pair of earbuds known as the OnePlus Buds Pro. That last product is interesting because this is the first we’re hearing about it.
OnePlus has launched several sets of earbuds over the years. However, all of them have been budget or mid-range models, with nothing that could adequately compete with the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro or Apple AirPods Pro. Judging from the name of these OnePlus ‘buds, the company could be stepping into the premium market.

Unfortunately, that’s about all we know about the OnePlus Buds Pro. However, you might be able to tell us more about them if you apply to be a product tester. All you need to do is apply here before July 17. OnePlus will review all the applications and then select the testers and ship out the devices on July 22.
Considering OnePlus is ready to ship out the new Pro-level ‘buds already, it’s reasonable to assume we’ll see these officially launch for people to buy sometime soon — possibly even on July 22, which is when the company will launch the OnePlus Nord 2. That can’t possibly be a coincidence, can it?
