- Google plans to continue the Android 12 beta program, with the next update slated for December.
- Future Android 12 beta updates will include feature drops, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
- If you’d rather stay on the stable Android 12 update track, you’ll need to unenroll before December 1.
Just because the stable version of Android 12 has now rolled out to eligible Pixel smartphones, that doesn’t mean Google is done releasing beta updates. In a post on the r/android_beta subreddit, the Android Beta Program team announced that current Android Beta enrollees will be able to continue the Beta Program to receive “ongoing Android 12 pre-release updates.” These updates include feature drops, bug fixes, and performance and stability improvements.
The Android Beta team specified that if you take no action to unenroll your device from the Android Beta Program, you will automatically receive the next beta update starting in December 2021. However, if you wish to return to the stable track of Android 12, you can unenroll your device between now (after you’ve installed today’s update) and Wednesday, December 1. If you fail to do so during the specified period, unenrolling your device at any other time will result in a factory reset.
