  • Samsung may have posted an image of the Galaxy S21 FE on Instagram.
  • The phone in the image tentatively seems in line with the upcoming flagship.
  • Samsung has since deleted the post, suggesting that it was published by accident.

Update: August 10, 2021 (2 AM ET): Samsung has now deleted the Instagram post that appeared to include the unreleased Galaxy S21 FE. This suggests that it was published early and by accident, and lends credence to the idea that it revealed Samsung’s forthcoming mid-ranger.

Original article: August 9, 2021 (7:58 AM ET): We’ve known for a while now that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy S21 FE later this year, owing to numerous leaks and reports. Now, it looks like Samsung itself may have given us a look at the upcoming smartphone.

The company posted an image on Instagram (h/t: SamMobile) showing what could be the back of the Galaxy S21 FE. Check it out below.

Samsung Instagram potential S21 FE

The Instagram shot certainly seems more in line with the leaked Galaxy S21 FE renders from what we can tell. The S21 and S21 Plus have a different finish for the camera housing compared to the rest of the body, while leaked S21 FE renders suggest the same finish is used for the upcoming phone’s back and camera bump.

We still can’t rule out the possibility that this device is a Galaxy S21 or S21 Plus in a different colorway though. So we’d encourage you to take this image with a grain of salt for now.

In any event, those waiting for a Galaxy S21 FE launch might have to wait a few more weeks. Samsung is expected to officially reveal its foldable phones this week, but the affordable flagship isn’t expected to appear at the launch.
