- The Apple support account appeared to post a Galaxy Z Flip 7 promo video on Weibo.
- The post was quickly deleted, but not before it was spotted and shared by others.
- It has since become apparent that the error was caused by Weibo’s servers, rather than an Apple employee’s mistake.
Update: July 31, 2025 (5:10 PM ET): It looks like Apple may not have hit the wrong upload button after all. A Chinese tech blogger says the incident was due to a Weibo client-side bug that mismatched video and text, making it look like Apple Support had shared a Galaxy Z Flip 7 promo.
Apple’s own backend reportedly shows no edited or deleted posts, and the company stated, “Apple Support has only posted Apple content. We are working with Weibo to understand how this happened.” It did seem like quite a catastrophic blunder, and it makes sense that there’s an innocent explanation.
