- Lenovo announced many new products as part of its virtual Lenovo Tech World 2021 event.
- That includes two new laptops, the IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon and the IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro, along with the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook.
- Two Android tablets, the Tab P11 5G and the Tab P12 Pro, were also revealed.
Lenovo is holding its annual Tech World event virtual for 2021 today due to the continued Covid-19 outbreak. It used the event to announce quite a few new products that are coming shortly, yhis includes two new Windows 11-based slip laptops, a new Chromebook with a detachable display, and two new Android tablets.
The new laptops include the IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro. You can order this big 16-inch 4.6-pound notebook with a 120Hz refresh touchscreen display. Inside, you can get up to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H mobile processor, and you can also get it with discrete graphics chips, up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 processor. It supports up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. The battery should last up to 12.5 hours on a single charge. Other features include speakers with Dolby Atmos support, two USB ports, a USB-C port, an HDMI port, and an SD card slot to add more storage.
The IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon, as the name suggests, uses a carbon fiber material for its body. That allows it to weigh just 2.37 pounds. The 14-inch display has a 2,880 x 1,880 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Inside, its battery should last up to 14.5 hours, and you can put in up to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U mobile processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics chip. It supports up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. You can also get it with two USB ports and a USB-C port, but there’s no SD card slot or HDMI port with this notebook.
Along with the new laptops, Lenovo also revealed the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook. The 13.3-inch screen uses an OLED display that can detach from the keyboard so that the display can be used as a Chrome-based tablet. Inside, it uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 chipset, along with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It weighs just 1.5 pounds and can last up to 15 hours on a single charge. It also includes a 5MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera, along with two USB ports.

The two new Android 11 tablets include the Tab P11 5G. It has an 11-inch 2,000 x 1,200 display, and inside, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor, along with either 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, or 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It also has a microSD card to add more storage. You can expect to see a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera with a ToF sensor, a battery that should last up to 14 hours, and quad JBL speakers. It supports both WiFi-6 and 5G networks.
Finally, the Lenovo P12 Pro Android 11 tablet includes both WiFi-only and 5G models. The 12.6-inch tablet has a 2,560 x 1,600 display, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor inside. It also supports either 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage or 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage with a microSD expansion slot. The battery will last up to 17 hours on a single charge. You get both a 5MP and 13MP rear camera on this tablet, along with an 8MP front camera with a ToF sensor. It comes with a detachable keyboard and support for a stylus, which the tablet can wireless power up when it’s attached.
Lenovo has not revealed any price points nor release dates for any of these products. However, since the notebooks are using Windows 11, we suspect they won’t go on sale until October at the earliest, as Microsoft’s next Windows OS update doesn’t launch until October 5.
