Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra S Pen peeking

2021 has been a rather interesting year for Samsung fans, as the manufacturer is skipping the Galaxy Note series this year in favor of bringing the S Pen to the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3.

The one downside to this approach is that the S21 Ultra and Z Fold 3 don’t actually have integrated slots to store the S Pen. Instead, you’ll need to buy a separate phone case that allows you to stow the stylus away.

An integrated slot does come at a cost though, and the Note 20 Ultra demonstrated this well. The most significant cost seems to be battery capacity, as the Note 20 Ultra offered a 4,500mAh battery versus the similarly large S20 Ultra’s 5,000mAh battery. Is this a compromise you’re willing to make? Let us know via the poll below.

It’s not guaranteed that an integrated S Pen slot will result in reduced battery capacity, but the slot definitely takes up space inside a phone design. And this space can indeed be used for battery capacity, extra cameras (or larger sensors), and/or other components.

Nevertheless, let us know if you’re happy to make this trade-off via the poll above. And leave a comment below if you’ve got more to share.
