- In the previous Pixel Camera app redesign, Google removed convenient on-screen controls for brightness, white balance, and shadows.
- The December Pixel Drop brings Pixel Camera version 9.7, which restores these on-screen controls and allows users to adjust settings directly from the viewfinder.
- Some Pixel users have started receiving the update, but you might have to wait a bit longer to get it.
Update, December 13, 2024 (2:16 PM ET): Last week, Google brought Pixel users an early holiday present with the release of the December Pixel Drop. That included not just the latest improvements to the Android platform but also updates for a bunch of Google apps. We started seeing the Pixel Camera app get its 9.7 update for select users last Friday, but it was clear at the time that this release was still not widely available. Fast-forward to now, and it looks like the latest Pixel Camera build is finally starting to roll out to Pixel users everywhere (via 9to5Google).
