- An Egyptian man has obtained Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 days before their debut.
- They confirm the design, including a new green color.
- The buds could launch alongside new phones and watches on August 11.
There might not be much mystery left to Samsung’s next ‘starter’ wireless earbuds. Egyptian Ahmed Qwaider has obtained a retail version of the Galaxy Buds 2 that shows you much of what to expect.

True to the many leaks, the Galaxy Buds 2 have a more harmonious design with a square-shaped charging case instead of the original’s oval-like charger. They have an eye-catching green color option, too. Qwaider didn’t discuss audio quality or the software experience, although we wouldn’t expect a stunning experience when these are meant to be a step down from the Galaxy Buds Pro.

The Galaxy Buds 2 are believed to include active noise cancellation and a three-mic system that helps with call quality. The charging case could offer up to 20 hours of total listening with ANC turned on, and 30 off. And don’t worry if you aren’t fond of green — there are hints Samsung will ship the buds in purple, black, and white hues.
It’s not clear how Qwaider obtained a retail unit, and he didn’t share the release date or pricing. However, many expect Samsung to introduce the Galaxy Buds 2 at its Unpacked event on August 11 alongside new foldable phones and the Galaxy Watch 4 line. If so, don’t be surprised if the earbuds are available within days of the announcement.
