The beauty of Android is that manufacturers are able to customize the platform with their own software skin or overlay. These skins not only change the look and feel of the platform but often introduce loads of new features that aren’t in the stock or pure version of Android.

There are loads of options out there from various manufacturers, but we want to know what’s your favorite Android skin? Let us know by taking the poll below and leaving a comment if you have a more nuanced opinion to share.

Android skins have come a long way from the early 2000s and early 2010s, when manufacturers made bloated, ugly overlays for their phones. These skins often had a major performance penalty back then too, and it wasn’t uncommon to find overlays that were poor imitations of iOS.
