OnePlus Nord 2 renders

The Indian market will see two notable mid-range phones launched this week, namely the OnePlus Nord 2 and the Poco F3 GT. Both phones are looking like pretty solid buys, and are rumored to retail for Rs 31,999 (~$428) and Rs 30,000 (~$401) respectively.

These two devices share the same MediaTek Dimensity 1200 flagship-level processor but otherwise look like starkly different propositions. So which one would you choose? That’s what we asked last week, and here’s how you answered.

Would you buy the Poco F3 GT or OnePlus Nord 2?

Results

We posed this question on July 14, accruing 2,100 votes until now. The winner was the Poco F3 GT, and it wasn’t even close. The Poco device garnered just over 1,500 votes, equivalent to over 70% of the total votes. We didn’t receive any comments on the accompanying article, but it’s clear that the phone is no slouch.

The Poco F3 GT’s key selling point is a pair of retractable shoulder buttons, giving you those all-important physical controls in games. But you’re also getting a 120Hz OLED screen, a 5,065mAh battery with 67W charging, and a 64MP triple rear camera system.

Meanwhile, just over a quarter of respondents said they’d purchase the OnePlus Nord 2 instead. OnePlus is positioning the phone as the mid-ranger to get if image quality is important to you, featuring a 50MP primary camera. This is the same IMX766 sensor used on the OnePlus 9 family’s ultra-wide camera and on the Oppo Find X3 Pro’s main and ultra-wide cameras.

The phone is also confirmed to get a 90Hz OLED panel, while rumors point to a 4,500mAh battery and 65W charging too. In other words, the Nord 2 might lose out on refresh rate and battery capacity but could be gaining on the camera front.

It’s also worth noting that OnePlus hasn’t exactly enjoyed positive sentiment among enthusiasts lately. The firm was recently caught up in a throttling controversy and it essentially became an Oppo sub-brand earlier this year. So it’s possible that these factors played a small role in the results of this poll.
