- Samsung’s S Pen Pro stylus has passed the FCC.
- The stylus will support the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and a host of other Samsung products.
- It also supports Air Actions on several devices.
Previous rumors have pointed to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 debuting with S Pen support, which would make it the company’s first foldable device to welcome the stylus. Now, a new FCC listing all but confirms this.
The S Pen Pro, which first briefly reared its head in January, was spotted at the certification agency (h/t u/FragmentedChicken) complete with a list of its skills and supported devices. Unlike the Galaxy S21 Ultra pen, this stylus packs Bluetooth LE which fuels Air Actions support.
According to the S Pen Pro’s label, it supports more than just the Galaxy Z Fold 3, too. “Compatible with Galaxy Smartphone, Tablet and PC that support S Pen,” it states. The stylus also supports Air Actions on the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, Galaxy Note 20 series, Note 10 Lite, Galaxy Tab S7 series, and Tab S6 running at least One UI 3.1.

The S Pen Pro doesn’t support internal charging like the Galaxy Note series stylus. Instead, it seems a USB-C port with 0.5W charging will be used. The size of its power pack remains unclear, though, but keeping tabs on the stylus’ power level might be annoying for those who intend to use it often.
Samsung S Pen Pro: An optional accessory?
The listing adds valuable context to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and S Pen Pro pairing, but it’s still unclear how Samsung will offer the two devices. The S Pen Pro label suggests it won’t sit within the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s box but might be bundled as an accessory. Considering the Pen’s widespread support across the Samsung range, it should be available to buy as a standalone product, too.
Considering this listing’s timing, the S Pen Pro should make its debut at Samsung’s already jam-packed Unpacked event next month. Expect to hear more about Samsung’s plans then.
